Bomb blast rocks Enugu pollingcentre

A car bomb has exploded at the WTC
Primary School polling booth in Enugu North
LGA,
Panic gripped the area as voters voters scrambled
amid the blast. No casualties have been reported
at this time.
The bomb was alleged to have been planted in a
Honda Accord behind the school by unknown
people who were suspected to have been waiting
for the commencement of voting.

Officials from the Police Bomb Unit rushed to the
school following an alert, and have reported that
one bomb went off while another had been found
in the vehicle but had not yet been detonated.
The second bomb had been timed to go off
during voting but has since been dismantled.
Dan Basture, Enugu State Police Commissioner,
led officials from the command and the
Department of State Security to the scene to
conduct thorough screening of the area and
assure scared voters of their safety.
