A 21-year-old student, Charles Mann who stabbed his mother his mother 11 times and cut off his own penis in drug-induced fit of violence has been jailed 16 months.

Mann launched the attack on mother at their home in Haywards Heath, West Sussex, in December 2013 after a taking a cocktail of drugs — miaow miaow and cannabis, and alcohol.

After stabbing his mother 11 times, the student cut off his penis.

He was reportedly heard shouting "I love you but this is the prophecy" as he cut his genitalia.

Mann was jailed for 16 months after pleading guilty to Grievous Bodily Harm.

Daily Mail reports that the mother required surgery after suffering multiple punctures to one of her lungs, wounds on her arms, head and neck.

She was however mouthed 'I love you' at her son as he appeared in court for his sentencing yesterday.

The court heard that she made a frantic call around 6.20am on December 29.

"My son's just attacked me and stabbed me and he's going mental downstairs with the knives," she had told the operators.

Prosecuting Counsel Amy Packham said Mann was so high that he did not feel pain at all.

"He was not reacting to pain and was described as manic and deranged," Packham said

Judge David Rennie sentenced Mann to 16 months behind bars for Grievous Bodily Harm.

He told the court that he never had the intention to hurt anyone, especially his mother who he loves.
