Barring any last minute changes, Amaechi will be screened today alongside 5 other ministerial nominees.

The five others are Heineken Lopkobiri, Adewale Folorunsho, Baba Shehuri Mustapha, Ocholi James and Claudius Daramola.

Amaechi’s name has been dropped from the screening list of ministerial nominees by the Senate for three times since the ministerial screening started, over a petition against him for alleged corruption.

The Senate has assured that the former governor, Amaechi will be screened among other ministerial nominees, as its plenary session continues today.

The screening of Amaechi would be a tough one as the PDP senators are set to frustrate his confirmation, while the senators have insisted on screening and confirming Amaechi for a ministerial appointment.

However, Senator Ali Ndume, the Senate majority leader said the PDP cannot disqualify Amaechi based on what he described as triviality instead of the constitution, adding that the 8th Senate belongs to the APC and PDP senators are in the minority.
