A truck crushed a tricycle rider to death in the Mushin area of Lagos


A truck driver Femi Adewale has crushed a tricycle rider to death on Sunday in the Mushin area of Lagos. The 30 year old man was said to be heading for Ibese in Ikorordu, when the incident that left the tricycle rider dead  happened at about 6:30am.  an eyewitness only identified as Nurudeen Akintunde, saying: ” The truck with full speed suddenly rammed into the tricycle and the rider was forcefully thrown out of the marwa.



 “The rider died on the spot. The driver abandoned the truck, but I later learnt that he went to the Alakara division to report himself.” According to the Lagos state police public relations officer,  Dolapo Badmos, the driver has been detained. She said: “The truck driver reported at the division that while he was driving from Apapa to Ibese in his trailer, he hit a tricycle with number plate, EPE 817 QC. “The rider, whose identity has yet to be known, fell and the truck ran over him. His corpse has been deposited at the Mainland General Hospital’s mortuary for a post-mortem.” In a related development, 11 people were confirmed dead following a ghastly motor accident that occurred on Otedola Bridge, Berger area of Lagos, on Thursday, July 21. According to a report by PM News, the deceased were burnt to death as the 14-seater commercial bus lost its brake, somersaulted and burst into fire.
