APC condemns polls shift

The All Progressives Congress (APC)
has condemned the Independent National
Electoral Commission (INEC) for
postponing the general elections for six
weeks,

The party describes the decision of the
commission as setback for democracy in
the country.
John Odigie-Oyegun, the party’s National
Chairman, in a statement shortly after INEC
Chairman, Prof Attahiru Jega announced
the shift, said the reasons advanced for the
postponement were not genuine

He said the party would be meeting in an
emergency session to study the
implications of the postponement and will
inform Nigerians of its decisions in the next
few days.
He appealed to the party’s supporters to
remain calm even though what INEC did
was provocative.
