BOMBING: Police tighten security in Enugu after explosion

In the aftermath of an explosion that
rocked WTC polling unit in the Ogui area of Enugu
state, security has been beefed up in the
metropolis.

The Commisioner of Police, Dan Bature, who
visited the scene said the police have intensified
patrols while the bomb disposal unit has been
ordered to search every suspicious areas within
the polling units.

Bature said the heavy presence of security
operatives foiled planned attack on innocent
voters that would have caused a serious damage
and loss of live.
He explained that a black Honda with registration
number KUJ 971 LB driven by yet to be identified
persons contained an improvised explosive device
exploded, shattering thevehicle on the road
behind the polling station.
