Flying Eagles win 7th African championship
The Flying Eagles of Nigeria have made history as the first country to lift the African U20 Championship seven times.
The young Eagles a few minutes ago, defeated Senegal 1-0 to win the 19th CAF U20 Youth Championship.
Manu Garba’s men took the lead in the 18th minute through a Bernard Bulbwa wonder striker from outside the penalty box which swivelled past Keeper Sai of Senegal into the top corner of the net.
Senegal had their fair shots of the ball possession but the Eagles repelled and held on to claim victory.
Ghana who were beaten by the Flying Eagles in the semifinals won bronze after beating Mali 3-1 in the third place game.
Ghana’s Yaw Yeboah was voted the Orange Man-of-the- Tournament while Orange Man of the final match went to the goalscorer, Bernard Bulbwa of Nigeria.
Nigeria also won the Fair Play prize of the tournament.
