Lionel Mess Forward scores 400th goal for Barcelona

Lionel Messi scored his 400th goal for Barcelona in the Catalans 2-0 La Liga win over Valencia to remain top of the league table.

Luis Suarez opened scoring for Barcelona just inside the first minute with a fast move from one end of the pitch to the other.


Goalkeeper  Bravo release the ball quickly before Sergi Busquets passed to Messi who laid it of for Suarez to score his 12th goal in his last 12 games.

Valencia however dominated the first half at the Cam Nou and nearly got an equaliser after a penalty was award to them.

Bravo however got down well to Parejo’s kick to save it..


Valencia kept on troubling Barcelona all through before Messi added the second goal of the game and his 400th goal of his Barcelona career.


Messi who revealed that he cannot remember all his hat-trick's for Barcelona hopes to be on the score sheet more for the Catalans.

"I hope to score many more,' he wrote on his Facebook page after the match.

The Argentine has reached the 400 goal total in just 471 games with 309 goals in the league, 75 in the Champions League and 32 in the Copa del Rey pulse goals in the World Club Cup, the Spanish and European Super Cup.

He also made 141 assists in those 471 matches.
