Thierry Henry, Marcel Desailly, Zinedine Zidane, Patrick Vieira celebrate centurion for France

Thierry Henry, Marcel Desailly, Zinedine Zidane and Patrick Vieira recently celebrated their centurion appearances for the French national team.

The quartet all took to the Stade de France turf- the place where they all won the world cup in 1998-before France's defeat to Brazil on Thursday night to celebrate their position as national centurions.

The four are four of just six players to be capped more than 100 times by Les Bleus, with current France coach Deschamps and all-time leader Lilian Thuram who was absent at the celebration.

Thuram has 142 caps, with Henry second on 123, defender Desailly third with 116,  Zidane fourth with 108, Vieria fifth with 107 and Deschamps sixth on 103.

The six were part of the squad that won the 1998 FIFA World Cup on home soil.

Four-Zidane, Thuram, Deschamps and Marcel Desailly- of the six centurions started the historic final against Brazil at the Stade de France.

Vieira came off the bench to assist the last goal in the 3-0 triumph while Henry, France's highest goal scorer at the tournament was an unused substitute.

Two years later, all six started the final of the Euro 2000 as France beat Italy 2-1 in extra time to claim the trophy.

Thierry Henry was voted Man of the Match on the night.

The centurions celebration however ended on a sour note as France lost at home to Brazil 1-3 in the friendly match.
