APC Government To Write A New History For Nigeria – Saraki

Bukola Saraki, the chairman Senate committee on environment and ecology, has assured Nigerians that the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led federal government will open a new page for the country.

According to him, under the rule of opposition party all governments’ affairs will follow due process.

Saraki responded to the entire victory scored by APC in the presidential and National Assembly polls in Kwara state. He expressed optimism that going by the news getting him from across the country, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, party’s presidential candidate would emerge victorious in the presidential poll.

The APC chieftains said that the triumph victory scored in the state by the party has justified his often repeated phrase that “the peoples might is more than federal might”.

The former governor of Kwara state expressed delight that the presidential poll results so far announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) signed victory not only for the APC, but Nigerians as well.

Saraki said the said landslide victory polled by the APC in the state during last Saturday’s presidential/NASS election was not an accident but an image of the assurance of the party’s leadership to good governance and connection with the people.

“The wind of change has come; we will open a new page for Nigerians where things will be done properly. I think for Nigerians, the victory is to be able to vote out a seating government. Nigerians have spoken rightly that they have the power to vote you in and power to vote you out and I think current people in government including people like me will seat up”.

“I hope it will be a great lesson for politicians who believe in Abuja and federal might, they have learnt their first lesson of politics that the peoples might is more than federal might and until they come to terms with this, they will continue to learn more lessons,” he stated.

Saraki advised those who are yet to join the mainstream politics of the state to do so, stressing that the era of impunity in Nigeria had gone.

He particularly asked the people of Ekiti local government area of the state where the Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate hailed from not to vote based on sentiments in the coming governorship elections because according to him, their son cannot be governor by winning only one local government.

On the controversy trailing the issue of poll in Rivers state where Governor Rotimi Amaechi refused polls, the APC leader asked INEC to review the situation, saying a situation where elections was being conducted without a result sheet available was not right.

It should be noted that Nigeria’s main opposition party the APC is likely to have the majority in the incoming Senate, with no fewer than 60 senators.

In The NetDismissed army officer arrested for armed robbery

A dismissed Lance Corporal in the Nigerian Army, Ugochukwu Williams, has been arrested for armed robbery alongside two members of his gang, Obinna Aku and Chibuzor Obeta.

The former army officer however narrated how his love for cocaine use ruined his life and career, leading him into crime.

Vanguard Newspaper reports that on March 16, 2015, Williams and Aku had robbed a man, stole his i-Phones, and a Blackberry and a Honda EOD vehicle at gun point.

Realising that the victim had only N1,000 on him, Williams, a father of one who hails from Enugu State, took the victim to a nearby bank to withdraw cash.

But when they were unable to withdraw any cash from the machine, the suspects took the man's vehicle to Akala area of Mushin where they dismantled it and sold it in spare parts to traders in Ladipo market.

But a few days later, the victim on his way to work around Ojuelegba when he identified one of the suspects who robbed him and he immediately alighted from the commercial bus, headed straight to where that suspect was standing, and raised alarm.

The police at Olosan Division were later invited and the suspect was arrested, while his accomplice, Obinna, was arrested two days later.

Confessing to the crime and other robberies, Williams said they had a revolver pistol with six rounds.

He also lamented his addiction to cocaine as the bane of his problems.

"I do buy a pinch of cocaine at Akala area in Mushin for N300 and the effects wears off within three seconds.

The pathetic aspect was that I spent my entire salary buying cocaine. The urge to get a pinch of the substance drove me to crime. I never had it in mind to go into robbery.

Now my addiction has ruined my life and career."

EFCC Petition: Stunning Revelations Against Imo Governor Rochas Okorocha

On 11th day of March 2013, the counsel to some prominent citizens of Imo state, Hon. Chief Barr. C. O. C Akaolisa raised a petition to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) alleging the following facts against the Imo state governor Rochas Okorocha and his Rescue administration.

Please read on.

Criminal Conspiracy, Abuse Of Office, Stealing, Misappropriation Of Public Funds And The Financial Rot In Okorocha’s Administration In Imo State: A call for urgent investigation & prosecution of a cabal of fraudsters masquerading as Imo State Rescue crusaders.

Our client the Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON), Imo State Chapter has further to our earlier petition instructed that we forward the following facts to you for your information and necessary action.

Consequently, we write to call your attention to a number of economic and financial crimes being perpetrated by the current crop of leaders in Imo state and urge you to use your good offices to cause urgent investigation into the case. For clarity, we have enumerated some of these fraudulent activities to guide your kind attention.
FRAUDULENT MISREPRESENTATION OF THE FINANCIAL POSITION OF IMO STATE UPON ASSUMPTION OF OFFICE AS GOVERNOR BY OKOROCHA

The administration of His Excellency Chief Ikedi Ohakim left a total sum of N26.27billion in various bank accounts of the state namely: Balance of Imo bond proceeds in UBA Plc. “ N13.3billion; SUBEB project accounts with BankPHB (now Keystone Bank Ltd) “ N3billion; VAT account in Zenith Bank Plc. “ N488million; Internally generated Revenue account with Zenith BANK Plc. “ N450million; Local Government Joint project account with BankPHB “N2.5Billion; Agric Loan Account with Access Bank Plc “ N500million; Fertilizer sales account with Oceanic Bank Plc “ N250million; JAAC Account with BankPHB “ N3.6billion; MDG Projects accounts with Fidelity Bank Plc “ N500million; Education Trust Fund (ETF) with Zenith Bank “ N1billion and Imo Children Education Funds “ N670million. The Total sum is = N26.27billion.
Although the previous administration of Chief Ohakim left huge sums in various accounts as shown above, the Okorocha’s administration did everything to conceal these funds from the Imo people. These funds were never appropriated in any budget of the state since taking over office and control of same. Today as it were, the entire N26.27billion has been criminally squandered without the knowledge of the Imo People. Suffice to say that this is a clear case of crass abuse of office, criminal conspiracy and outright stealing of public funds, which should attract very serious sanctions.

CRIMINAL VIOLATION OF IMO STATE BOND LAW AND MISAPPROPRIATION OF THE N13.3BILLION IMO STATE BOND PROCEEDS
It can be recalled that the Imo state Government during Chief Ohakim’s administration approached the capital market to fund specific critical capital projects.
Part of the requirements of the capital market was the enactment of a state bond law to restrict the utilization of the bond proceeds for the critical projects for which the approval will be based.
This led to the passage of the Imo State bond law authorizing the Executive arm of government to borrow in tranches a maximum of N40billion for the funding of specified projects as detailed in the prospectus with which the bond was issued to the investing public.
Upon receipt of Securities and Exchange Commission approval, Imo State Government under the Ohakim’s administration drew the 1st tranche of N18.5billion.
A total sum of N5.2billion was expended on the following projects as approved by SEC in compliance with the bond law: All professional parties fees “N925million; Critical Roads – N3.773billion; Renovation and furnishing of Oguta Lake Motel plus preliminary works on the Oguta Wonder Lake Resorts and Conference Centre “N390million and Completion of 37 water schemes – N125million.
From the foregoing, it is evident that a balance of N13.3billion was handed over to the Okorocha’s administration. This balance was over and above the amount of N12.5billion appropriated for the Wonder Lake Resorts and Conference Centre project under the bond law.
The Sun Newspapers of January 23, 2013, reported the Current Imo state Commissioner for Finance, Deacon Chike Okafor as saying the balance of the bond proceeds were channeled into critical areas of infrastructure development such as the building of 305 classroom blocks, building of ultra-modern general hospitals in the 27 local government areas of the state and construction of vital roads across the local government areas.
Arising from Deacon Okafor’s assertion, it is obvious that the bond proceeds had already been spent before the Okorocha’s administration approached SEC with a proposal for change of purpose.
Another point to underline is that the Commissioner for Finance admission shows criminal violation of the bond law as it existed. Even the projects, upon which the bond proceeds were purportedly channeled to with the exception of Owerri Municipal Primary School and ongoing primary school in Emekuku, are non-existent.
It is regrettable that rather than check the executive arm, the Imo state House of Assembly is criminally colluding with the executive to amend the bond law to deceive the Imo People that the unlawful and fraudulent diversion of a whopping N13.3billion bond proceeds is justifiable. As at close of work on the 8th of March 2013, the purported amendment is yet to be signed into law by Governor Okorocha.

CRIMINAL SHARING OF N45BILLION AND N28BILLION LOANS ILLEGALLY SECURED WITH IMO LGA ALLOCATIONS ALLEGEDLY USED FOR NON-EXISTENT ROAD CONTRACTS IN VARIOUS LGA

The probe of the Deputy Governor of Imo state, Mr. Jude Agbaso has exposed the various schemes perfected by the Okorocha administration to unwholesomely divert public funds and in fact share public funds among themselves as largesse. This is done through phantom award of road contracts without any contract document as outlined below: Award of a 3 kilometer road at the cost of N1.2billion at N400 million per kilometer as confirmed by the Imo House of Assembly Report, adds weight to the series of allegations that the state government uses fake contractors in the various LGA to loot Imo funds.  This award did not have the following:
(a) project Design
(b) No Advertisement
(c) No Bidding
(d) No Bills of Quantities and Specifications (e) No tender at all (f) No evidence of prequalification of contractor (g) No provision for the project in the State budget, and finally (h) No Exco Waver for all of the above.

In addition, 100% payment was made without performance bond nor advance payment guarantee in contravention of the Imo state financial Instruction I & II, Imo State Public Procurement Law (Due Process Law), Fiscal Responsibility Law, Imo state and the Public Procurement Act, 2007.
Furthermore, the contractor who runs a restaurant as a business is not known to have done any road contract anywhere in Nigeria. His only qualification is that he is a close friend and partner of the Imo state first lady, Mrs. Nkechi Okorocha. Thus he was merely used as a conduit to fraudulently withdraw money from the government coffers to be shared.
The Deputy Governor, Sir Jude Agbaso took N458 million representing 40% of the contract value. We request that the following persons who are directly or indirectly connected with the phantom contract should be invited for investigation:
i. The Contractor “ Mr. Joseph Dina, MD/CEO of Jpros Int’l Nigeria Ltd,
ii. The Deputy Governor of Imo State, Sir Jude Agbaso,
iii. The Principal Secretary to the Governor, Dr. Pascal Obi,
iv. The Accountant General of the State, George Eche,
v. The Commissioner for Finance, Deacon Chike Okafor,
vi. The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works, Mr. Alex Nebedum
vii. The Director of civil, Ministry of Works, Engr. Egbuka,
viii.  Chief Okey Nwosu, AKA 101, the biological brother to the Imo State First Lady who procured the contractor,
ix. The Imo State First Lady, Mrs. Nkechi Okorocha,
x. The Chief of Staff to the Governor, Chief Eze Madumere. See the Imo House of Assembly Special Adhoc Committee Report on Sir Jude Agbaso published on Friday, the 8th of March 2013 edition of the Nigerian Horn Newspaper (attached and marked Annexture 1)
B). In Onuimo LGA, the state government approved the sum of N255.6million for payment to phantom contractors purported to be engaged in non-existent road contracts in the LGA as evidenced in the undated memo of the Management Committee (project Monitoring & Evaluation) with Ref no:
GH/SA/PME/533/VOL.VIII/49(attached as annexture2). Note that these payments were made on the 24th of April 2012 long before the incorporation of some of the beneficiaries namely:
Elason Global Enterprises incorporated on the 24th of December, 2012, Lufranza Engineering Services Company incorporated on the 13th of December, 2012 and Elason General Supplies Company with no evidence of incorporation. One wonders how a state government should award road construction work to unregistered companies if not to deceive the people and steal their money.
C) Again in Governor Okorocha’s 2013 Budget Speech on page 9 paragraph 4 & page 13 paragraph 7, he listed a number of contracts he claimed are designed to put Imo State in the Guinness Book of Records for which he categorically stated that he had already paid 40% of the contract sums. Contracts in this category
include:
(a)  Imo Towers of 1,000 Housing Units targeted at high net worth individuals and Imo citizens in the Diaspora,
(b) The Ecumenical Centre known as Amarachi,
(c) The Magnificent Towers known as Akachi,
(d) The five star crystal Hotel,
(e)Ultra-Modern shopping malls,
(f) Multilevel car parks,
(g) The Ultra-Modern Judiciary Headquarters,
(h) Princess Hotel, Okigwe,

Today, there is nothing anywhere in Imo to justify the payment of 40% advance as presented by the governor. (See a copy of the year 2013 Okorocha’s Budget speech attached as annexture 3) Who are the contractors? How were they engaged? Was there any advertisement? Was there bidding? Was there any appropriation before the said contracts were awarded? These are questions law enforcement should seek answers from the governor and his cohorts in Imo State House of Assembly.
D) One other fraudulent scheme currently going on in Imo is that contracts are awarded and awardees are coerced to pay kick back before their cheques are confirmed for payment. A number of the contractors who refused to be part of the crime have had their cheques returned unpaid. (See the cheques attached as annexture4) which belongs to some of the Imo people who got contracts but refused to offer bribe and their cheques were never confirmed by the commissioner for Finance and therefore dishonoured. Note that these people are ready to testify on this case as part of their commitment to reinventing sanity in our body polity. See list of cheques on the table
below:

S/N       CONTRACTOR                              AMT                             CHEQUE #
1           INELS LTD                                      1,900,000.00              00001490
2           HUUBS VENTURES                      1,045,000.00               0O001436
3           HUUBS  VENTURES                     1,045,000.00               00001433
4           CHOPPERS G. SERVICES             300,200.00                  00001489
5           CHOPPERS G. SERVICES             2,090,000.00
6           CHOPPERS G. SERVICES             2,090,000.00               00001487
7.           INELS LTD                                     1,900,000.00               00001435
8.           HUUBS VENTURES                     1,045,000.00               00001488

E) In his characteristic manner, Governor Okorocha also awarded a Phantom N4billion contract for government House furniture and paid 100% of the sum upfront to the contractor now purportedly at large.  In our view, this is one of those schemes criminally crafted to siphon the N26.27billion handed over to him by the Ohakim’s administration which he had kept sealed lips over.

F) The graveyard silence maintained by the Imo State House of Assembly over the heartbreaking fraudulent activities being perpetrated by the Executive is a clear indication of criminal conspiracy and collusion to loot public funds. It is now an open secret that the Honourable Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly awards road construction contracts in the state and has even installed his own Asphalt plant in Owerri from where almost all the asphalt used in the construction in the state are procured. Similarly, most of the Honourable Members of the Imo State House of Assembly seem to have abandoned their legitimate legislative duties and are now in a mad rush to build hotels in Owerri such as the magnificent hotels being built by Honourable Mrs. Eudora Igwe, member, representing Ideato North State Constituency and Honourable Amuka (AKA Oshimiri), member, representing Ideato South state Constituency. The speaker and other principal officers of the House of Assembly must be immediately arrested and investigated if order must be restored in the State.

CRIMINAL CONVERSION & STRIPPING OF IMO STATE GOVERNMENT ASSETS

Mr. Rochas Okorocha has criminally converted the Imo State government assets to his personal use. It is evidently clear that the former Imo Deputy Governor’s lodge located on High Court Road, Behind Government House Owerri has been converted to Lamonde Hotel, a holding of Okorocha which was so heavily indebted before he became governor that the Credit Bureau blacklisted the company from borrowing from the Nigerian money market.

Most Imo state money yielding corporations have been either concessioned, sold or leased to cronies of the governor for little or nothing in contravention of the Imo State Investment Promotion Agency Law.

These corporations include among others:
i. Ada Palm sold to Roche for N3.5Billion,
ii. Both Concorde Hotel and Oguta Lake Motel  leased for 20 years to ABM Global Nigeria Ltd, No. 8A Iron Bar Street, Lekki Phase 1,
iii. Imo Transport Corporation leased to Global Ginikana Ltd for N250 million,
iv. Part of Imo Hotel leased to himself,
v. Avutu Poultry Industry, Obowo,
vi. 18 General Hospitals sold to Lantech
Solutions,

From the foregoing, the financial rot in Imo State is enormous; we may have only scratched the surface.
We believe that your circumspective investigation into this petition will not only shock the world and dwarf any case of criminal conspiracy and stealing of public fund ever known to any state government but also truly rescue the Imo people from these rampaging criminal invaders .

See Baby Girl Born With Elephant Nose

A baby girl born with an “elephant trunk” is being worshipped as a Hindu god in a village in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, in northern India.
See Baby Girl Born With Elephant Nose

Locals believe that this baby girl is the reincarnation of Ganesha

The girl, who has not yet been named, was born to Rambabu Sarvesh and his wife Banna Devi on Thursday. Since then thousands of onlookers from all over the country flocked to a small village to see the new-born infant. The locals believe that the baby girl is an incarnation of the Hindu deity Ganesha, who also has a trunk.

The news that there is a ‘divine’ child in the village has spread, bringing many visitors

According to the girl’s aunt, crowds of worshippers had since arrived to make offerings to the divine child. She said: “My sister-in-law gave birth to a girl at 7:00 a.m. and her face looks exactly like Lord Ganesha. This is why whoever hears about her is coming here to get a glimpse of the baby and are making whatever offerings possible.”

A traditional depiction of Ganesha

The girl. who is the fourth child in the family, has facial lump between her eyes that divided her nose in two when the girl was still in the womb. Doctors will examine the baby girl to find out the extent of her condition and whether they need to operate. Now they suggest that deformity was most likely due to a gene mutation, as a result of malnutrition and increased pollution.

The girl comes from a poor family with her father hoping his daughter’s birth will bring the family better luck

Mr Sarvesh, who is already a father to three children, earns 250 rupee (N750) a day, and hopes that his daughter’s birth will change the family’s fortunes.  Several months ago a baby boy who was born with four arms and four legs was aslo hailed as “God’s baby” due to his resemblance to Hindu god Brahma.

A popular Actress Jackie Appiah S*ex Scandal Video Clip Explode Online

As a result, I heard the babe is in a serious battle at the moment trying to convince everyone that “nothing happened”.

Following a ‘graphic’ sex scene she acted in an upcoming movie titled ‘Death After Birth’, Ghanaian award-winning actress, Jackie Appiah, is being trailed by a barrage of accusations, among which is infidelity.

Days back, gist started spreading like wildfire in Accra and Kumasi that Jackie was indeed having an illicit affair with a radio presenter turned actor, Abeiku Santa. And guess what, this story is causing some heat for the babe at the home front.

Sources in Ghana said the sex scene even caused a fight in the studios of Okay FM as Abeiku and his friend, Kwame Amoo, nearly exchanged blow.

The two were said to have rained invectives on each other over the matter. So in a bid to save her face and possibly her marriage, the woman in the middle of the storm, Jackie Appiah, has denied ever making ‘real’ love with Abeiku.

Buhari Support Organisation Calls To Arrest Fani Kayode

The Buhari Support Organisation (BSO) has called for the arrest of Femi Fani-Kayode, the director of media and publicity of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential campaign organisation, for announcing unofficial results.

Chidia Maduekw, the director of media and information of the BSO, made the call on Monday in Abuja at a news conference, PM News reports.

According to Maduekwe, this is the time for security agencies to show their neutrality by arresting Fani-Kayode because the only authority to announce election results is the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The organisation stated that Fani-Kayode had breached relevant sections of the Electoral Act by announcing on Sunday that the PDP was leading in the presidential election in 23 states of the Federation.

“His arrest for further questioning will be a clear indication that the security agencies are truly unbiased participants in this electoral process.

“His declaration is also a breach of both the first and second Abuja Peace Accord signed by the presidential candidates,” Maduekwe said.

He called on the international community and observers to note the steps being taken by the ruling party to cause severe breach of peace and call them to order.

He urged APC supporters to maintain the peace as they await the official announcement of authentic INEC results for the Saturday elections.

“We ask Nigerians to join us in saying `No’ to this recent manifestation of habitual impunity.

“We appeal to all our numerous supporters to sustain their calmness in the face of current provocation and abuse of our electoral processes,” he said.

Maduekwe said that APC would reject “in its entirety, the use of security to compromise an election process that has been commended as having high quotient of integrity”.

He urged INEC to adhere strictly to guidelines for elections which protected candidates through active participation of party agents.

“We request INEC to adhere to the guideline which makes it mandatory for polling unit party agents to sign result sheet forming the basis for collation of result at collation centres.”

Fani-Kayode in his turn has recently stated that Prof. Attahiru Jega should be held responsible over the card reader machine glitches during the Presidential  and National Assembly elections in the country.

PDP Rejects Election In Three Edo LGs

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State on Monday rejected results of general elections in three local governments where it lost the Presidential and National Assembly elections.

The Nation reports the PDP alleged that elections in Etsako West, Akoko Edo and Owan East local government areas were marred with irregularities.

Chief Dan Orbih, State Chairman of PDP, said elections in the affected LGAs were marred by “multiple” and “underage voting.”

Orbih noted that results showed “heavy mutilation,” coupled with cases of harassment by suspected thugs of the APC.

“The reports reaching us from these local governments shows clearly that the elections that were held in these three local governments were characterised by multiple voting and also we have reports of underage voters who were forced out to come and cast their votes.

“From the result sheets received from these local governments, we have received very grave mutilation of result sheet and with several reported cases of harassment and intimidation even at the voting centres, by suspected thugs of APC,” he said.

Orbih urged INEC to re-examine the results from the localities and said the party would file petition on the alleged allegations.

“For us as a political party, we are going to reject the result declared in Etsako West, Akoko Edo and Owan East because of gross irregularities that have been observed in the conduct of the elections in these ‎local governments.”

Meanwile, the INEC is holding a press conference in Abuja. The official announcement of the second batch of results is happening NOW.

A great Politician will die soon "Prophet TB Joshua Prophesy"

Prophet T.B. Joshua, has revealed some things that will happen soon after the elections in Nigeria.
Speaking to his congregation on Sunday, March 29, 2015, the prophet said, he is seeing the death of a prominent politician due to ‘heated up’ politics in the wake of the closely fought Nigerian elections.

“I am seeing Nigerians heating up politics.

“They will heat up politics and a great man among the politicians will likely lose his life… I am seeing this kind of thing happening in the night.

“Wednesday and Thursday of this coming week and next week, make sure you fast and pray.”

Joshua stated this just before the close of his church service at 7pm in a message broadcast live via Christian television station Emmanuel TV.
He urged members of his congregation to remain prayerful on those specified days so as to save souls.

He urged his congregants to avoid violence, and not allow themselves be used by politicians to cause bloodshed, while adding that do or die is not politics.

The man of God said: “There is a difference between your faith and politics.

“Don’t play politics as if it is your faith. ‘Do or die’ is not politics. Politics is a game. When you lose, you say, ‘Thank You, Jesus’; when you win, you say, ‘Thank You, Jesus’.

“Your future and the future of this nation – Jesus will ask you to give account. What we are doing now is for generations yet unborn. Don’t trade this future for money, thuggery or corruption.”

T.B. Joshua also predicted that an international terrorist will be captured.

“A criminal they have been looking for, for many years, who has been terrorising the world – I am seeing him being caught and displayed to the world on international media,”  he announced.

Before the elections, the cleric had warned Nigerians to be aware of fake political party people, saying he foresees a plane crash.

Pastor T.B. Joshua is famous both in Nigeria and abroad for his religious activities. He performs miracles and conducts deliverance. The cleric also makes predictions about events that will take place on the national and international stage.

PDP demands cancellation of polls in Kano, Gombe others

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has demanded the cancellation of the election results of seven states.

The states in question are Kano, Jigawa, Kaduna, Gombe, Bauchi, Katsina and Kogi States, where the All Progressives Congress (APC) emerged victorious.

The PDP called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to nullify the results due to alleged electoral malpractices.

The demands were made on Monday, March 30, by Deputy National Chairman of PDP, Uche Secondus during a meeting with journalists in Abuja.

“In Kano and some of these states in the North, majority of voters were under-aged. Voting also took place in the night and you know that in the night rigging can take place,” Secondus said.

“As we speak, our state chapters have submitted their petitions to the state Resident Electoral Commissioners and they’re on their way to Abuja to submit similar ones at the Commission’s Headquarters to its Chairman, Professor Jega because we are being guided by law,” he added.

Secondus alleged further that the APC had also rigged massively in the other states in question.

‘Jonathan administration planning to tamper with results,’ APC alleges

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has alleged that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), led by President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration, is planning to tamper with the results of the recently concluded general elections.

Nigeria’s Presidential and National Assembly elections were held on Saturday, March 28 and Sunday, 29.

The APC made the allegation via a statement released by its National Publicity Secretary, Lai Mohammed.

The statement reads:

“The information that we have received since we issued our last statement is to the effect that the administration is holding clandestine meetings with security chiefs and others with the sole aim of altering or scuttling the results which they consider to be highly embarrassing and unpalatable, using malleable RECs (resident electoral commissioners).”

The Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Olisa Metuh has however denied the allegation.

Collation of results from the elections are currently ongoing and INEC has begun announcing final results from various states.

Delay In Announcing Means Manipulating Results – APC

The main opposition party the All Progressives Congress (APC) has said the postponement in announcing the results of last weekend’s elections in the South-East and the South-South gives room for concern, against the background of the results that are streaming in from other parts of Nigeria.

Alhaji Lai Mohammed, party’s national publicity secretary, in a comment issued in Lagos said apart from Rivers and Akwa Ibom, where everyone knows what the situation is, there has been nothing but silence from the others states as far as the results are troubled.

It said many concerned Nigerians have asked the party to show their concern over the shift, and to share their fears on whether something menacing is behind the palpable silence.

”The fact that most of the South-East and the South-South resorted to manual accreditation instead of being patient for the card readers has raised real fears on the possible manipulation of the results. It is common knowledge that manual accreditation makes the voting process more susceptible to rigging and manipulation,” the party said.

The APC clarified as very curious the fact that the card readers mostly worked well in other parts of the country, except in the South-East and the South-South, wondering whether this was a mere accident.

”Also, credible reports emanating from most of the South-East and the South-South indicate that APC agents have either been harassed, intimidated or chased away from results collation centres, the same treatment they (APC agents) have been subjected to in Adamawa and Taraba States.

”Against this background, we are demanding that our agents in all the affected states be given unfettered access to the result collation centres, and that they must also be allowed to scrutinize any result emanating from there for it to be credible,” it said.

The party changed its earlier alarm that no one should avoid the will of the people for whatever reason and that only the authentic results of the elections will be acceptable to Nigerians.

The APC appealed to its concerned members and supporters to be calm and to continue to shun violence, promising that in the end, the will of the good people of Nigeria – which they have freely expressed by turning out in large numbers to exercise their franchise – will prevail.

However, it has already been obtained that APC also won in Kano, Jigawa and Ondo states, and Jonathan – in Ekiti and Enugu state.

The Nigerian ‘PVC is better than US voter’s card,’ Ambassador says

The US Ambassador to Nigeria, James Entwistle, has congratulated the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on the use of Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs) in Nigeria’s general elections.

The Ambassador also stated that there’s a need for the US to copy the technology, which he said is better than the method the country currently applies.

Entwistle stated this on Sunday, March 29, during a meeting with journalists at the International Conference Centre (ICC) in Abuja.

“I am very impressed by the decision of INEC to use technology in this election. The Permanent Voter Cards are very high-tech. They are more high tech than my voter card from the state of Virginia in the US. My voter card does not have biometric. It does not have my fingerprint. The high-tech gives the process more integrity,” the Ambassador said.

“I congratulate INEC on taking the part of High-tech. I think we need to come and study it so that we can use it in my country,” he added.

Nigeria’s Presidential and National Assembly elections held on Saturday, March 28 and were extended to Sunday, 29 due to difficulties experienced in some areas.

‘Elections went on smoothly,’ Read Jega’s speech on conduct of polls

The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Attahiru Jega has expressed the commission's pleasure at the generally smooth conduct of the ongoing general elections.

Jega spoke on the polls during a media briefing on Sunday, March 29.

Read his speech below:

"INEC wishes to commend Nigerians for their large turnout and peaceful conduct during the elections. The Commission commends Nigerians for the resilience and understanding exhibited in the face of these difficulties”

“We hope good conduct will continue to prevail throughout the election period as well. The Commission is pleased that the elections went on smoothly across the country including the North-East where Internally Displaced Persons voted (Adamawa,Yobe,Borno).”

“It is also gratifying to note that the card readers worked well in the majority of the Polling Units (PUs). Though there were areas where the difficulties experienced necessitated additional guidelines. The guidelines by the Commission allow for manual accreditation of voters as announced yesterday.”

“Osun, Kebbi, Ekiti, Adamawa, Borno, Jigawa, Anambra, Akwa Ibom and Ebonyi state reported manual accreditation in some PUs. As a result of these difficulties, elections could not be concluded yesterday in a few PUs and voting in underway today.”

“I can tell you certainly that the failure of card readers surprised us and it is probable that the POs were not trained.”

“The Commission conducted voting for IDPs in the NE, although with a few reported security incidents. It is heartwarming that the elections went well in a substantial number of the PUs across the country notwithstanding challenges.”

“We commend the security agencies for their vigilance and dedication. In the course of the elections yesterday, the Commission has received reports of security challenges in some states that were repelled.”

“Only the INEC is empowered by law to announce results and it is an offence for anyone to preempt the Commission in this regard.”

“You start counting 48 hours when substantial amount of polling units have concluded elections. According to the reports from our state offices, collation of results has commenced and it is going well.”

“We received reports of a boko haram attack and a few ad-hoc staff of INEC lost their lives. We have reached out to the family of the bereaved and it is an unfortunate event.”

“We received reports of underage voting from Taraba and we have instructed that the PO involved be identified. Underage voting is against the law, we are investigating reports and will take measures once this is established.”

“This morning, I received a letter from APC calling for elections cancellation in Rivers, we are thoroughly investigating this. After investigation, we will brief the political parties of our findings.”

“If we find out that our staff are involved in any illegal acts, they will be investigated and penalized according to the law.”

“It is true our INEC office in Rivers state was torched, we have informed police authorities. We have asked for additional security so this does not occur again.”

“We will declare results when it has been collated from the states. You start counting 48 hours when substantial amount of polling units have concluded elections.”

“Collation of results will begin at 12pm tomorrow. We are not under any pressure to declare inconclusive elections.”

The elections were slated to hold only on March 28 but were extended to the 29th due to difficulties experienced in some areas.

'Wait patiently for election results,’ President Goodluck Jonathan urges Nigerians

President Goodluck Jonathan has urged Nigerians to wait patiently for the official results of the Presidential and National Assembly elections which held on the country on Saturday, March 28 and Sunday, 29.

President Jonathan made the call due to the current tension in the country following the early release of results from some states.

“We waited patiently to vote in these elections, now I want to urge all Nigerians to also wait patiently for the Independent National Electoral Commission to collate and announce results,” Jonathan said via Facebook.

“We must ensure that we do not get involved in acts that breach our peaceful co-existence that we patriotically demonstrated during the elections,” he added.

“May God bless Nigeria,” the President concluded.

This year’s highly competitive race will see either Jonathan or his opponent, Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) emerge as President-elect.

In a reaction to the alleged delay in the announcement of Saturday’s, March 28, Presidential and House of
Islamic Group Warns INEC Against Repetition Of June 12

The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) spokesman, Prof. Ishaq Akintola, who spoke with National Mirror correspondent on Sunday commended Nigerians for showing high-level patriotism by coming out en masse to cast their votes.

He reportedly warned the INEC to avoid a repeat of the June 12 uproar, and urged politicians to relentlessly continue to calm their supporters in order to avoid violence before and after the announcement of the results.

The religious body also tasked the electoral commission to treat the results with dispatch.

“INEC is advised to avoid unnecessary delay because this is capable of generating tension. We call on the Federal Government and the security agencies to fully respect INEC’s independence. Breathing down INEC’s neck or arm-twisting it at this crucial period should not be contemplated,” Akintola said.

MURIC called the Federal Government’s attention to the June 12, 1993 debacle, and lamented that the poll that was considered the most free, fair and peaceful in Nigeria’s political history was criminally and callously annulled by the then military government.

Assembly elections across the country, an Islamic group has issued an urgent warning to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
“We all know what followed. There was widespread civil disobedience. Sanctions were imposed on Nigeria by Western powers. Life became unbearable and we are yet to fully recover from its impact 22 years later. Nigeria must not repeat the June 12 conundrum,” he said.

MURIC also urged stakeholders to allow INEC do its job without any interference or hindrance.

Meanwhile, the June 12, 1993 election is believed to be the freest and most credible election that has ever been conducted in Nigeria. The election was won by a business mogul, Chief M. K.O. Abiola, but was criminally and callously annulled by the then military government of General Ibrahim Babangida.

Abiola was jailed by Babangida for claiming to be the winner of the annulled poll, and while he was in incarceration, he died under mysterious circumstances.

However, fears associating with a repeat of the June 12 palaver might be a welcome call when one considers the recent comment of the national chairman of the Third Republic National Republican Convention (NRC), Chief Tom Ikimi.

Ikimi, who was a former member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), but recently defected to the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was quoted as saying: the North should wait for 2019 before vying for presidency.

The soldiers arrived at the INEC office in Armoured Personnel Carriers (APC).

5 Reasons Why Dating A Married Man Could Lead You To Your Early Grave

1) He Will Never Love You Like He Loves His Wife

Many ladies find married men very interesting to date. Marred men are known to spoil their girlfriend with cash, gifts and affection. Some even go as far as abandoning their wives and children while engaging in extra marital affairs. Bu hay lady, don’t be fooled by the love and affection he is showing you. The truth is 90% of married men love their wives dearly, most of them engage in extra marital affairs for the fun of it and will do anything to protect their wives and children.

Besides what makes you think that a man would suddenly fall out of love with a woman who has been married to him for years, taken care of him when his was sick, raised children together with him, and have made several sacrifices for him. Then after she has done all this you think you would come and do better than her.

Please think again, after eating the honey comb your married boyfriend would start seeing you as a trespasser and a thief that has come to rob him of his family happiness. Ladies please shine your eyes life is not a Nollywood film where the girlfriends always have the upper hand. In reality; stand between a married man and his family and you may end up 6 feet under. He will never leave his wife for you.

2) He Sees You As An Object To Satisfy His fantasies

Many ladies wondered why their married boyfriends who once appeared caring and loving suddenly change and become cruel. Well the truth is married men engage in extra-marital affairs for the s**x alone and nothing more. While s**x with a married man could be so adventurous and exciting.

For the married man, it is an escape from the boring routine of marriage life, don’t get it twisted, you remain a tool for s**xual gratification and when its all over he will return to a wife he said he was going to leave to be with you. He goes back to the love of his life while you remain single and alone.

Then you may hatch the plan to get pregnant for him so as to keep him. This is a death sentence, research has shown that 98% of married men would go to any length to terminate a pregnancy from a girlfriend, even the noblest men could commit murder in this regard. Why? Because been pregnant does not change the fact that you were their s**x object. They won’t even mind committing murder if it serves as a quick fix to an unwanted pregnancy

3) Dating A Married Man Never Has A Happy Ending

The problem with ladies who date married men is that most of them foresee a future where there is none. They keep on hoping that one day the man would leave his happy family and come live with them. They envisage a happily ever after where there is sadly ever after. There are only three endings in an extramarital affair and none of them looks good: Its either your married boyfriend kills you; you kill him or his wife kills you. Be warned a jealous wife would kill to protect a foolish husband.

4) You Stand A 90% Chance Of Been Attacked By A Crazed Wife

Some time ago I heard of a woman who attacked her husband girlfriend in a bar and stripped her naked, though the alleged girlfriend was on her period she was beaten blue – black and made to dance while the husband ran away on sighting his wife.

This is just one  of many stories of girls suffering humiliation for dating married men.  The dangers involved are much, you stand a 70% chance of been attacked by his wife. Nothing hurts a woman more than when she finds out that her husband has been sleeping with another woman. The fact is a woman never blames her cheating husband for his infidelity.

She sees him as a helpless man who was seduced by a desperate home breaker. A married woman will go to any length to protect her marriage, acid attack, hiring of thugs and in some cases hired assassins are some of the many options at her disposal and even the most gentle woman could become a vampire when it comes to dealing with a home breaker.

In a country like Nigeria where acid can be gotten from the road side mechanic and an assassin can be hired for a loaf of bread, why endanger your life? An encounter with a married woman never ends well, even if she kills you, her husband will still stand by her.

 5) It Is Not A Matter Of If, It Is A Matter Of When You Will Be Caught

Many ladies allow themselves to be fooled by the thoughts that their secret relationship with a married man would never be exposed. What a wishful thinking. A crazed wife who suspects her husband of cheating will go to any length to unearth the truth. She is very observant and can detect the slightest change in her husband’s behavior. A suspecting wife is more determined than the FBI, CIA or any security agency in arriving at the truth and when she does you are a goner.

I would never forget what a man revealed to me in a bar in Festac. He said after been duped by his business partner, he and his wife began planning how to assassinate the man who duped him. According to him, 3 days before the plot was carried out, the supposed target came begging. That was how the plot was dropped. As chilling as his story was, I learnt that his wife has an eagle eye. Always on the lookout to protect their huge wealth and would go any length to do so. She also knows very step her husband makes, knows his friend his associates and all. Dating the husband of such a desperate house wife is as sure as crossing the express road with your eyes closed.

Tonto Dikeh And Halima Abubakar Fight Over Juju Priest

Etcetera, who is known for airing his (mostly controversial) opinions  and also calling out celebrities on various matters, is at it again.

This time around his victims are the Nollywood actresses Tonto Dikeh and Halima Abubakar.

The former artiste turned celebrity critic claims that Tonto and Halima were best friends but fell out because of a juju priest.
Tonto Dikeh And Halima Abubakar Fight Over Juju Priest

Etcetera said: “Our Nollywood sources tell us that Halimah Abubakar and Tonto Dikeh who used to be good friends, fell out because of a juju priest — It is said that Halimah, took Tonto to sample the powers of her juju priest who got encharmed by her looks and preferred working for her instead of his usual customer, Halimah.

“Halimah could not stand the fact that she got sidelined by her own juju priest and asked Tonto to stay the hell away from her for good. A staff of Etcetera Live called Halimah at about 2pm yesterday (Friday) to confirm the story but she demanded for a text message to be sent to her instead. Further attempts to reach her proved abortive until about 11.32pm when she finally picked and said in her own voice, “this is Halimah’s PA, she will get back to you later.”

“Hmmmm, so na juju separate the 2 of dem? No wonder dem no gree tell us wetin really happen between dem.  Breeze don finally blow fowl yansh ooo. Same sources told us that Tonto does not like tattoos; she uses them to mask incisions gotten from her visits to her juju priest”.

Halima Abubakar and Tonto Dikeh

Some weeks back, Etcetera tagged as political prostitutes most of Nigeria’s showbiz entertainers who are in one way or another publicly showing support for the parties and the presidential candidate they will vote for when election time comes.

He also called out D’banj, Wizkid and Oritse Femi, claiming they were broke and not so wealthy as they like to portray.

In KanoThugs attack President Jonathan’s aide

President Goodluck Jonathan’s Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on School Agriculture, Dr. Baraka Sani, on Saturday, March 28, escaped death in Kano State.

Suspected political thugs reportedly prevented her from voting at Jigriya Ward in Dakatar Quarters, Nasarawa area of Kano.

Sani was attempting to cast her vote when the thugs stoned her with pebbles before she was rescued by an onlooker, as she was shielded and escorted from the scene of the incident to a waiting black Honda Pilot Jeep, which zoomed off immediately.

According to Punch, eyewitnesses said as the thugs sighted the SSA they started chanting: “Ba muayi, ba zaki ye zabe ba,” meaning, “We are not with you and will not allow you to vote.”

The 10 minutes scuffle left Sani’s aides injured.

The president’s aid later came back to vote at the polling unit having mobilised a combined team of security operatives, comprising the Army, Air Force, Directorate of State Security and the Police, who ensured her safety throughout the voting process.

Speaking on the incident, Sani asked rhetorically; “Is that the kind of change Nigerians are yearning for, where Nigerians would be denied their constitutional right? Is this the kind of change that women will be summoned before the ICC?

“Is this the kind of change that the opposition is denigrating women that they will never again participate in the political process, limiting their freedom of expression, freedom and constitutional right?”
