Yusuf to sign N60m per year Eagles contract


“The NFF president has said he should be in Abuja this week to sign his contract,” an official announced. Yusuf will, apart from assisting Rohr, will also be in charge of the home-based Eagles. He was on two million Naira every month when he assisted late Stephen Keshi and Sunday Oliseh. Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr is on $47,000 a month, which is more than thrice what Yusuf will earn. Rohr has signed a two-year contract, which is being bankrolled by a mystery sponsor. He has handpicked three personal assistants to be part of the Eagles

Mikel Obi pays $4000 to free squad after hotel officials held them to ransom over bills


John Mikel Obi paid $4000 to free the Olympic football squad after the team was held to ransom by hotel officials in Sao Paulo over bills incurred by additional NFF officials according to reports.

According to the report by African Football, the team is comprised of 25 players-18 players and 7 officials, but extra five officials were added to the team's hotel roster, and the hotel management insisted the team pay before departing, but instead of the NFF or the Sports Ministry to pay up the bills, Mikel Obi, who is also Team Nigeria's captain shelled out $4,000 before they were allowed to leave the Sao Paulo hotel to Salvador.

After Newcastle captain has been rejected by Arsenal he is begging for Real Madrid transfer


Moussa Sissoko has publicly stated that he is waiting for Real Madrid to approach him. The French international was part of the Newcastle squad that suffered relegation from the EPL this season. NFF Set To Appoint Gernot Rohr As New Super Eagles Coach


According to reports, The Nigeria Football Federation has selected a German, Gernot Rohr, to manage the Super Eagles.
Rohr has already accepted the terms and conditions of the job and is ready to stay in Nigeria and lead the Eagles to the FIFA 2018 World Cup qualifiers.
It was also confirmed that he would be introduced to Nigerians in Abuja on Monday.

“The man is coming to live in Nigeria and work with our vision to develop Nigerian football. Qualifying for tournaments don’t really translate to proper development and so he is coming to stay here with his family and work with the federation and Nigerians,” Pinnick said.

Juventus: Allegri unperturbed by striker's fee


Massimiliano Allegri has dismissed suggestions Juventus are paying over the odds for Gonzalo Higuain amid reports the Serie A champions have triggered the Napoli striker's €94 million release clause, insisting the transfer fee is the logical consequence of the way the market works.

Midfielder a welcome selection headache for Chelsea manager Conte


The arrival of French midfielder N'Golo Kante during the close season has given new Chelsea manager Antonio Conte a welcome selection headache in midfield.
Kante, who joined from Leicester City, is Conte's second signing of the close season and has brought additional quality to a midfield, which includes the likes of Nemanja Matic, Cesc Fabregas and Oscar.

Ancelotti: Bayern Munich's transfer business done


Bayern Munich coach Carlo Ancelotti has no plans to sign a replacement for Mario Gotze, insisting he is happy with his squad.
Gotze returned to Borussia Dortmund in a deal worth a reported €26million after the Germany international spent three seasons in Munich.

Buhari welcomes FIFA anti-corruption reforms


President Muhammadu Buhari has welcomed FIFA’s President, Gianni Infantino plans to reform the game through transparency, anti-corruption and good governance.
He ‎assured that his administration would pay keen interest to accountability and transparency to fast-track football development in the country.
This was even, as the FIFA President, Gianni Infantino noted that there was  no crisis in football management in Nigeria, noting that there was an elected president in place, who is already functioning.
Buhari, who received the FIFA President,  Infantino, and the Secretary-General, Fatima Samuora at State House challenged football administrators in the country to fashion out strategic programmes to develop the game.

Inter Milan vows to keep Mauro Icardi


The player has been put up for sale according to his wife. She disclosed: “From what I can see, Inter have put Icardi up for sale. There are many clubs interested. The ICC Manchester derby clash in China has been cancelled


A tweet from the Red Devils indicated that the decision head been made between the tournament organisers and the two Manchester clubs.

Jose Mourinho refuses to conduct Manchester United press conference in 40C room in Beijing


Manchester United's pre-season tour descended into farce in China as Jose Mourinho was forced to conduct an open-air press conference - because of the sweltering heat.

Mourinho refused to conduct his media conference - ahead of Monday's clash with Manchester City in Beijing - in a cramped room at Beijing's Olympic Sports Centre because of the temperature.

United's training session and Mourinho's press conference were switched from the Bird's Nest Stadium, where the game is being held, because of problems with the pitch.

Chelsea Rejects 35million Pounds Offer for Jose Mourinho


Despite the pressure mounting on the Portuguese coach, Chelsea has rejected a £35million bid offered by Monaco for embattled Jose Mourinho.

Monaco shareholder Alessandro Proto revealed last week that Monaco were interested in Mourinho and has since confirmed his desire to land him. And now, Proto claims he met owner Roman Abramovich in London to try to get the Portuguese, reports the Mail.

Ex-Super Eagles goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama has explained told his own side of the story following the clash with coach Sunday Oliseh which ultimately led to the Lille star’s premature international retirement.
Enyeama called it quits with the Super Eagles after 13 years with the Nigerian senior national team.
